Introduction
There’s no looking back for this year’s BTS 2024 Conference & Exhibition, we’ve decided to focus on the future at the 2024 event, and will be shining the spotlight on innovative technologies, including the much misunderstood sector of AI in tunnelling, the effect of underground construction on the environment and how to minimise its impacts, alongside the usual mix of projects and new developments that are pushing the limits of engineering. Of course, also featuring over the two days will be our sometimes heated, often humorous, but always revealing in-depth panel discussions!
We’ve almost completed the speaker line-up with well over 20 presentations already booked in, ranging from cutting edge TBM developments, sustainable tunnelling in the face of climate change, The David Wallis Lecture, site reports from HS2, Woodsmith Mine, Gothenburg and Stockholm, a complete session on contemporary tunnel lining solutions, and another session dedicated entirely to the small bore sector – which is looking increasingly like the UK’s next big market! There may be one or two spots left if you feel you can add to the already impressive raft of speakers though…?
The BTS 2024 Conference and Exhibition will be the biggest tunnelling industry gathering in the UK and it’s already looking like a not to be missed event, so keep you’re diary free for: October 8th – 9th, 2024, the QEII Conference Centre, London
CONFERENCE FORMAT
The single track of invited speakers will address the conference delegates, starting at 9am on Tuesday 8th October and concluding at 4pm on Wednesday 9th October 2024. The exhibition will run concurrently with the conference over the two days. Free pre-registered visitors can also attend the exhibition.
SESSION AND THEMES
The conference programme is being put together as we speak. Tunnelling Journal is working with the BTS Conference Committee to finalise the programme and speakers will be invited to present.
